The Journey to -30 starts with 1 step
“the journey to 30 begins with one step. or more accurately 16,773 of them”
the first two OFFICIAL days have gone fairly well. i say official because i’ve been trying to start something like this for a while now, but am only now getting to be serious and committed to it.
yesterday i found out how far it is from my apartment to my work (4Mi) and decided that that was a reasonable distance goal to shoot for each day. so armed with that information i set off. now that figure, 16,773, is the amount of recorded steps i took on my walk yesterday. that does NOT factor in the steps to the store to get my pedometer and headphones, and the steps between finding pedometer and headphones and recording steps. regardless, i set out. i had intended to walk a reasonable distance (to a grocery store and bacK) but as i reached the grocery store i continued walking. to the sum of about 4 miles. (my goal, yay!) that was one way. shit. i had to walk back. double my goal for the first day. score.
today i took it a little easier on myself. walked a measly 4.65 miles (9830 steps.)
if i can keep this and calorie tracking going, i should be in good shape (no pun intended) towards my goal.
